Title: World Cup

World Cup

I think one of the most impressive things, I’ll never forget is the 2002 FIFA World Cup which was held in south Korea and Japan from 31th May to 30th June. It was also the first world cup held in Asia.

So we did the best to prepare well to hold the event successfully and had been looking forward to it for ages. People went absolutely crazy, we went crazy of the world cup. The whole city was in a festival mood during the time, gathering together on the street or in squares.

They called ‘Red devils’ and wore red clothes.

The most common cheering was ‘Dae han min guk’ by hitting musical instruments like the Korean drum. We also cheered our team by singing a famous Korea folk song Arirang. At that time I felt extremely fantastic. We were closely bonded together by cheering.

At that moment, I spent most of my money on making a night of it. Because people were on the street and celebrated at midnight.

It was really incredible that our team got to the semi final which we lost to turkey. We couldn’t hide our disappointment after the match. I cried All my friends and people yelling, screaming, crying, hugging each other, jumping around. The reason we cried It was because 2002 was the best game our team had ever played. We were really happy and moved although we only made it 4th.

I was proud of our team and everyone. It was so amazing.
