1. Application Procedure and Payment of Application Fee
If you would like to join any of our part time classes please call us at 6338 1378 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
We will arrange for you to come to our centre located near Clarke Quay MRT and take a free placement test to determine if you are suitable for the class.
To reserve a seat in the class, please pay the S$60 application as there are only 10 seats available in the class. Paying the application fee guarantees you a seat in the class.
The Application fee can be paid by Nets, Cash or SGD Cheque made payble to "Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd".
2. The Private Education Institution-Student Contract & Payment of Course Fee
Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd only collects course fees once the student has taken their placement test at Ascend Education Centre and signed The Private Education Institution-Student Contract. The purpose of the contract is to safeguard the students’ rights. Under the Fee Protection Scheme (FPS), Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd has an insurance arrangement that ensures course fees paid by students to Ascend Education Centre are insured by AXA Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd. The insurance protection serves to protect the students' course fees in the event Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd is unable to continue operations due to insolvency, and/or regulatory closure. Furthermore, the FPS protects the student if Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgments made against it by the Singapore courts.
Course Fee payment can be made by Cash, NETS, SGD Crossed Cheque, Cashier’s Order/Bank Draft and made payable to: ‘Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd’.
3. Miscellaneous Fees
Miscellaneous fees can be made by: NETS, cash, bank draft, money order or SGD cheque made payable to: ‘Ascend Education Centre Pte Ltd’
The purpose of this course is to build learners' confidence and accuracy in spoken communication.
About the Class
- Class is limited to 10 students to ensure all students have time to practice their pronunciation and speaking in class.
- Students listen to the teacher, CD and repeat phonetic sounds with drilling emphasized.
- Students learn to pronounce sounds and solve pronunciation problems.
- Students learn to use correct mouth formation, stress, rhythm and intonation.
- There are students from various countries.
- Teachers inspire and provide active support for students in class.
- Teachers lead by example using correct formations.
5. Teacher Profile
from the US, has taught EFL at the primary school, high school, and university level in Japan and the Republic of Korea. He also has experience in teaching English for special purposes (TOEIC, TOEFL, Business, Travel, American Culture, and English Language Haiku).
Gerald wants to help students build confidence in using English to achieve their personal and professional goals. He has a MA in Teaching English to Young Learners, and a Cambridge CELTA qualification. He enjoys hiking, taking in the atmosphere of historical towns and villages, seeing museum exhibits that feature aspects of a culture's history, and writing English language haiku.
6. Part-time Course Certification
Ascend Education Centre issues a Certificate of Attendance for students who achieve at least a 75% attendance record for this course. There is no formal examination for this course.
