Ascend Education Centre has an Escrow account with DBS to protect the course fees of our students. With this facility, students do not pay their course fees directly to the school, but into a special bank account, called an Escrow account. The total course fees payable to the Escrow account depends on number of terms (see above) and is payable on approval of student pass. Course fees are escrowed and payable before the start of your course.

a) Students whose student pass application has been rejected and they wish to submit a new application.
b) Students who wish to withdraw their student pass application and re-apply for another term. |

b) Students who have not already registered for the next term. |

Students applying for a student pass are allowed to start classes only after their student pass application has been approved by ICA. |

Overseas students are advised to come to Singapore only when their student pass application has been approved. |

Students who join class after the mid term test will be placed one level LOWER than the placement test. |

Students on student visa will be assigned a class time based on the availability of space in the class. |

About Full Time IELTS Course
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication. It is the preferred test of English for students intending to study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and the United Kingdom and covers the four language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking.
IELTS Academic Module is recognised widely as a language requirement for entry to all courses in further and higher education and assesses whether a candidate is ready to study or train in the medium of English at an undergraduate or postgraduate level.
IELTS General Training Module is suitable for candidates who are going to English-speaking countries to complete their secondary education, undertake training programs or for immigration purposes.
The test result is published in the form of a report, which places candidates on a scale of one to nine according to language ability. There is a score for each of the four modules and also an overall score. IELTS can be taken at test centres in over 100 countries. Test dates are fixed, and tests are normally available in Singapore every second weekend. The listening, reading and writing modules are tested together on one day with the speaking module conducted on a separate day. Our IELTS course is an advanced course in IELTS which provides a solid grounding in the key language and skills needed for IELTS success.
- Our IELTS courses cover both the Academic (for university entrance) and General Papers (for migration).
- Our IELTS class size is limited to 15 students per class to ensure that all our students receive individual attention.
- Studying in a small classes gives out teachers the time to give students comprehensive feedback to ensure they have every opportunity to maximise their IELTS score.
- The courses provide a solid grounding in the key exam skills needed for IELTS success.
Teaching Approach
- Our teachers focus on skills development for the reading, listening, writing and speaking modules of the IELTS exam,
- Teachers give students ample practice in class for all the 4 skills required in the IELTS examinations by using past exam papers.
- Teachers assign test preparation exercises for homework. Students should be prepared to put aside additional time outside of class to complete their assignments.
- Lessons are very intensive.

Originally from Melbourne Australia, Marnie is Singapore permanent resident who has also lived and worked in London and Hong Kong. Marnie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) (Hons) and is CELTA-qualified with more than eight years of English teaching experience. Marnie has taught English at all levels and ages and has a particular interest in teaching business English to adults. Marnie strongly believes that English teaching must be results-focused. She works closely with students to tailor course content to ensure they are working towards clear and achievable goals. |
